Recycle, Reduce, Reuse, Renew!
Mohawk recycles 3 billion plastic bottles each year. Mohawk's everSTRAND carpets contain 100% post-consumer recycled content. Mohawk's everSTRAND carpets are made using PET(polyethylene terephthalate) that is extruded from recycled plastic bottles. PET bottles are sorted, ground into chips, and cleaned. The chips are then melted into fiber and spun into carpet yarn. Recycling post-consumer products like plastic bottles is very important to Mohawk.
Mohawk also uses reclaimed hardwood flooring. Wood from 600 year old buildings is salvaged and reused to bring the original antiquing and distressing people desire.
